Salvation (the Gospel)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:1

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him - 2 Corinthians 5:21

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8-10 -emphasis mine

Pray:

  • During your selected time for prayer and study, pray using the Lord's prayer as prompts.
  • During the prayer, ask God to convict you of a stronghold or a sin He wants you to repent of.
  • When He revels one (sin or stronghold) to you, surrender it to Him, (repent) turn from the sin and ask Him to tear down the stronghold.

Study:

Find/read scripture that answers the following questions so we can discuss what we all found next Thursday:

  • How do we rely on God when we are being tempted?
  • How do we persevere when sin and temptation are so strong?
  • Why do people repeat the same sin over and over (Strongholds)?
